Strangers are simply friends you haven't met yet. You don't know anything about them just as yet. You have a clean slate with them. This is just the beginning of a new relationship. You are creating what they see and hear at that moment and in this case, what they are reading.
So, how do you go about it skillfully?
1. Always be friendly. Just like you before you found this business, most people are looking for their lucky break, hoping for an open door to something better. So don't be too shy. It could cost them, and you a fortune.
Acknowledge people and be friendly right from the start. Cultivate an attitude of warmth toward people all the time.
2. Make it a part of your routine to greet people, but respect their personal space. WHY? If you learn to greet people routinely, it won't be hard to start a conversation with them. And respecting their personal space makes them feel like you respect them.
3. For specific contacting and welcoming methods, we do have step-by-step training on how to do just that here in WA.
The best way to learn from this platform is to get engaged and be active in the activities here in WA. As often as you can, get around your leaders. Watch how they deal with people. Observe them and communicate with them as much as possible.
We do always read about asking questions when you need them. And so you are being encouraged to do just that. Do not be afraid to ask questions. The only stupid question is the one not being asked.
4. All you really need is practice. The road to excellence is working with a good mentor, learning the skills, and then practicing them until they are second nature. Start by making it your goal not to bombard the new members with too much information at the outset but to just say hello and get acquainted with them.
I found this appalling especially if the new member had no previous experience working online or with any digital business. It is too overwhelming for them Make it a habit when you can to connect with them in order to develop a friendship first.
Just check with them once in a while and see how they are doing and if they need help with anything. That would be a great time for them and would appreciate you more.
Here's the main thing. Enjoy people. Acknowledge them. Make casual conversation. If the conversation takes into a Q & A, don't talk about yourself. Talk about someone in your Support team instead.
It's easy. It just takes practice.
"PEOPLE ARE ATTRACTED TO PEOPLE WHO ARE GOING SOMEPLACE. ENTHUSIASM IS A MAGNET."
Do you have any other methods or personal practices that you do to be involved more with new members?
Please do share your experiences with us as you wish.
Thank you so much my WA Family for your precious time reading my blog post and please do leave your comments, likes, and feedback.
