Do you know how the bamboo tree grows?
The giant bamboo has a particularly hard seed. It is so hard that to grow the bamboo tree you must water, fertilize and nurture that seed every day for four years before any portion of it breaks the soil.. And then in the fifth year, the tree shows itself.
But the amazing thing is that once it breaks the surface, this bamboo plant, like many of the species is capable of growing at rates as fast as four feet a day to a height of ninety feet in less than a month.
You can practically stand there and watch it grow.
Now, my question to you is, "Did the bamboo tree grow ninety feet in under a month or it grows over five years?" The answer is simple. Over five years, of course.
So you see, if you were the person planting that bamboo tree and you had stopped watering or fertilizing and nurturing that seed at any point, that tree would have died immediately.
Most people do not realize that if they did not see instant results, they too have to continue to water, fertilize and nurture their dreams. There is no other way around it. No shortcuts, otherwise it would not materialize.
But many people become discouraged and impatient and walk away from their dreams just as they are about to spring and come out into this world.
It is sad to say that eventually, their dreams die. Just be persistent and work diligently and it doesn't matter if you don't see it yet. Your time will come if you have the patience to wait for it.
It has been said that the richest place in the world is the graveyard. Why? Because most people died with their dreams buried with them and not being realized.
Are you going to be one of them? I sure hope not. Yes, it takes a lot of patience and perseverance. It is going to test you and your attitude in life. You will meet so many trials and tribulations.
Most of the time you feel like giving up as you don't think it is going to happen for you. Sometimes it takes much longer than you anticipated.
The Olympic First Triathlete Gold medalist, Flora Duffy from Bermuda took 20 years for her dream to come true and with a lot of pain and struggles to the point where she could not even walk because of injury.
Thus she felt that she lost her hope of even trying.
But she persisted time and time again, going through a lot of agony, distress, and almost giving up. What if she did? She would not have achieved her long-time dream of being an Olympic first-ever Gold medalist as a triathlete from Bermuda.
